Aloha guys! I have been fighting with this ATV for over a week now every single day. Its a 2013 Rancher 420 with an Auto/ESP trans and Power Steering. Start by trying to shift it thru the gears with the manual tool. If you don't have it an 8mm socket on a 1/4 drive works. Rock the bike back and forth might be needed. Very common to hang between gears. After you have done this shut the key off and on to reset the code. It works similar to the cable adjuster on the clutch lever with a dirt bike. On the atv, the foot shifter system is connected to the shifting clutch. When you press down on the shift lever, it also works the clutch - same as pulling the lever on the mc.Pry open the universal foot pedal shifter so it will fit around the hex. You'll want to take the floor board plastic off for easier access. Also, remove the reduction gears from your ES, located where the shifting motor is.
